I just met Dule Hill!
Well with the recent announcement, basically EVERY teenagee my age who’s taking the SAT this year is so upset because there are claims that the 2016 SAT will be easier than the one we will be taking.
I don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with 2016 besides my regular issues with the current SAT and not being a fair assessment of our knowledge
the SAT tests your ability to learn what they want you to learn
I think that no matter which test you get there are going to be things that make your test easier AND harder than the other.
I’m mainly happy because there are so many years of people who have taken the one that’s going on this March 8th, so there are so many easy ways to prep, people to talk to, books, tutors, tutorials and all that jazz
with the new test, yes I know the whole khan academy thing, but there isn’t really a way that those first kids taking it in 2016 are going to know what to expect, the entire structure, nobody before them has taken a test quite like theirs.
The essay section also I feel like is a fairly simple thing to learn and construct to give them what they want, even though the essay section would soon be optional, it would be significantly harder if one wanted to do it.
Lastly, I feel like IF the test is SO MUCH EASIER like everyone in the 2014/2015 classes are complaining about, mainly because of the removal of the hard vocab words, then it would really skew college apps. If it’s so simple then everyone will do well, making doing well on the SAT something that was VERY common. IF that’s the case then the SAT kind of becomes an insignificant part of your college application and you’ll have to outshine in so many other places as well, have connections, stuff like that.
I dont know though, these are all theoretical situations but I feel like both tests will be more complicating and more annoying and easier than the other in different ways and everybody needs to stop complaining and bitching about the changes. Everyone will lose something by not taking the other and everyone will benefit from not taking the other
*points at a bible* you made this up for notes
